The story behind Artprint
Erika, a long-time customer, regularly orders premium portrait drawing from us and the following story is about a special order.
I promised Erika that I would complete a drawing within a week - our standard time for drawings.
But in that one week, many things happened: My wife Hoa, heavily pregnant and about to give birth to Angelina, became ill and had to go to the emergency room with a fever of 40 degrees. In order to be at her side, I canceled all of my appointments and duties immediately.
I also had to make a new appointment with Erika and postpone completion by 7 days.
Unfortunately, Erika couldn't wait 14 days because the work of art she ordered was supposed to be a gift for her grandmother, who was seriously ill in the hospital. Her last wish was to be able to see her husband again, although he had not been in this world for 20 years. Erika really wanted to fulfill her last wish and asked me to shorten the production time to a day or two. She said to me that there had never been a photo of the two of them together.
Blessing in disguise
I tried my best, but the emergency situation my wife was in made it absolutely impossible for me to create a joint portrait of her grandmother with her late husband, especially with the quality and detail our client deserved.
A sudden thought occurred to me because I called my sister in Vietnam and asked her to draw a picture as quickly as possible. She immediately got to work and completed the artwork in just two days, but then another obstacle arose, as sending A2 size images takes at least 3 weeks. I sent Erika a preview via WhatsApp and explained the problem to her. She was very happy and cried, but a great thought came to her mind and she asked “Is it possible to print the drawing and send it by express?” I informed myself and immediately sent the 300 dpi* scanned image to a printing service and two days later the image arrived at Erika.
Her grandmother's last wish could be fulfilled and the peaceful get-together, surrounded by the family and the portrait, made her happy.

Our love for art led our family to become portrait painters. My wife and I both have siblings, two of whom have also chosen the profession of professional portrait painters .
How did that happen?
My story started in a poor village in central Vietnam, where we could only keep ourselves occupied or play with our siblings and neighborhood children. However, there were hardly any toys or places. At first, my sister liked watching me trace everything in the house and it fascinated her so much that she took out the pencils herself and started drawing. This passion grew within her over the years.
While we were studying abroad in Germany, our sisters took over the company in Vietnam. Our little sisters completed a master's degree in design and art at the Hanoi University of Architecture and then decided to become professional artists.
