How can I order a portrait from Sketchus?

Due to the high number of orders and processing order, the best way to order is via our online shop:

Now go through the following steps after you have found a suitable style:

1. Select the desired type (Fine Art Print - print - or premium - hand drawing) and select the size and number of people or animals.

2. Then upload up to 4 templates. Don't worry, if you don't have one ready yet, you can send it to us later via email or WhatsApp.

3. Click “Add to cart”.

4. If everything is good, go to the shopping cart and click "Checkout"

5. Enter address data

6. Select the desired production time

7. Select the desired payment method

If necessary, confirm with the payment provider (automatic forwarding to Paypal, Klarna)

8. Complete your order.

You will then receive a confirmation of receipt from us. If all information and templates are ready and receipt of payment has been registered with us, we will start with your drawing as quickly as possible.

When making a bank transfer, be sure to write the order number in the intended purpose so that we can allocate your payment quickly and correctly!

Can I only order via WhatsApp?

No, we recommend our online shop, but email and WhatsApp are also possible. However, we only start drawing once we have all the information about your order in the system.

If you can't order online or have a complicated problem, just let us know via email/WhatsApp:

- a telephone number where we can reach you

- Email address for contact

- reference photos in the appendix

Art print or premium? What is the difference?

- If you want a highly detailed hand-drawn piece of art, Premium is the right choice. Here you will notice a high degree of subtlety and contrast in the portrait sent to you.

(Average 10 days for completion and shipping)

- If you need our professional hand drawing faster, which is initially delivered as a print, Fine Art Print could be your solution.

Due to the reduction in production time, the details and contrasts are not as pronounced as with Premium . The price is also lower.

Can I cancel my order?

If you cancel within 24 hours of ordering, we will issue a full refund.

If the cancellation request is received after 24 hours and we have already started drawing, we will charge a fee of 10 - 20% of the portrait price, otherwise you will also receive a full refund in this case.

How much does it cost to have a picture drawn?

We offer different painting styles and sizes, and it also depends on the number of people or animals to be depicted. Our prices currently start at $49.99. This includes an art print with a person in A4.

Depending on the customization option, an additional charge will be added. It is best to use our configurator for the items for the price of your desired portrait.

Combining several photos or creating a portrait from old images - how much does that cost me extra?

One of our specialties is to create a portrait from several templates you provide, which, for example, should be made up of individual images into a family photo.

As with photos that have yellowed, for example, you can also recognize the details that were there and use them to draw something new for you.

We can offer you both at no additional cost.

Which online payment methods can I use?

You can order and pay online without hesitation. We work with the most important online payment services such as Paypal, Klarna, Klarna installment payment, Mastercard or Visa. Of course, we also accept advance payment and bank transfer, but Google Pay and Apple Pay are also possible.

Through the interface to the payment providers, you can choose a secure and fast payment in the shop. With certain payment methods such as bank transfer, it may happen that we are only notified of receipt of payment a few days later.

I ordered a portrait but forgot the transfer, what should I do?

You can also make the transfer to us a little later, but please note that if we do not receive payment we will cancel your order within 10 days of ordering.

If you would like to cancel the order beforehand or manage to transfer it in time, then contact us via WhatsApp with the order number and your name.

Please also note that we only start drawing after receipt of payment!

Can I pay in installments or make a partial payment first?

We can offer installment payments through our partner Klarna. A possible credit check would be carried out by the payment provider, unfortunately we have no influence on this.

Unfortunately we cannot offer partial payment.

Is there a money-back guarantee?

We cannot offer you a money-back guarantee. The portraits are individually made products that are drawn specifically for you.

However, we are convinced that you will be delighted with your purchasing experience and will not even think about returning it. If this is still the case, send the item back to us after prior arrangement within 30 days of receipt and we will refund you 70% of the purchase price.

Can I have pictures of the deceased drawn or combine several photos into a portrait?

Yes, we draw a high-quality, attractive portrait from each of your templates and can also create a larger work of art from several images. Our artists can also create the feeling that everyone was present in the moment.

Can I order a portrait drawing of people and animals?

Yes, of course! Did you know that Sketchus has made it its favorite task and topic to combine templates of people and animals into a work of art.

What do I do if my reference photos are not of good quality?

No worries! The Sketchus team has been working as artists in painting for more than 15 years. One of our specialties is working with very blurry or old photos and creating a work of art from them. We have many project examples, references and experience in the field of reconstruction, work and restoration of old photos.

I don't know which reference photos to choose?

In order to get the best possible result, we need your most current and clearest reference photos from you.

The following conditions are most suitable:

- Close ups

- Natural daylight without flash

- Sharp images (No blurring or blurring)

- Complete image of the person/face (ears and hair can be seen completely and clearly)

Will I receive a preliminary draft?

After ordering online, we usually discuss it together and decide on reference photos. We spend enough time before making to figure out what the proportions, size, height, composition and contrast will look like after drawing.

You will automatically receive a preliminary draft if

- A portrait costs more thanthe current price

- A portrait should depict more than 3 people

- Your order is more complex and we cannot decide correctly and would therefore like to take your opinion into account

- You wrote in the comments section when ordering that you would like a preliminary draft.

A notice:

- Preliminary draft: This is just a very quick collage and model to get a feeling and the character for the drawing. The production time increases by one day due to the additional effort.

- Preview: Under certain conditions, such as higher-priced portraits, we will send an additional preview. So you will also hear from us when your drawing is basically finished and the preview is final. There you have another opportunity for feedback and little things or details.

Production time & delivery time

How long does Sketchus take to produce a product?

A unique, beautiful portrait drawing means a lot of work and attention to detail. Depending on the style and size, creating a portrait can take several hours to even weeks.

We offer three options for production time, which can be chosen at the end of each order:

- Production time up to 5 days: surchargethe current price

- Production time up to 15 days: surchargethe current price

- Production time up to 30 days: no extra charge

A notice:

- This is just the production time, excluding the delivery time. We ship with DHL, which normally takes 1-2 days (for Germany and Austria).

- With Fine Art Print we can complete the portrait an expedited timeframe earlier

I urgently need a drawing, what can we do?

Is there too little time? The following suggestion might help you:

Order an art print with the express production time (5 days).


That means:

- We will draw your drawing for you on art paper.

- Once completed, it will be scanned and sent to you via email in high resolution.

- You can print these out directly and give them away on time.

- You will receive the premium art print a few days later and just have to replace it with the printed drawing.

I don't need the picture for 60 days or more, is there a good deal?

If you have more than 60 days, we will provide you with a discount code. Select 30 days for the production time and use " 60DAYS " and you will receive a 10% discount on the order, and we will not charge you any shipping costs.

When will I receive the order confirmation?

We send confirmation immediately after every order and payment has been received. However, if you have not received one, please check your spam folder; with some email providers it happens that our order confirmation is filtered out.

You are also welcome to contact us via WhatsApp and inquire about the status.

I uploaded an incorrect reference photo, what should I do?

You can send us the correct reference photo via WhatsApp. Please tell us your order number and which templates should be used if there are several.

I want to edit, add people or change the size of my order, what should I do?

If we haven't started drawing yet, we will correct your order and send you a confirmation email. You only have to pay the outstanding amount. Alternatively, you can cancel the order and order again yourself. Please notify us via WhatsApp as soon as possible so that we can help you.

Only a few days left until the actual delivery day, but I haven't received a message from Sketchus yet. Should I be worried?

Don't worry, we definitely haven't forgotten you! Our orders are signed as quickly as possible and in the order in which they are received based on the urgency of the order.

A good picture takes time to draw and edit. If you need your order urgently in the next an expedited timeframe and are worried, then ask us directly via WhatsApp, we will respond within 5-10 minutes.

Can I also order picture frames?

We're sorry to hear that, but don't worry, we're happy to offer you 3 options and hope you're okay with one.

Our artists represented around the world draw high-quality pictures. After completion, these are scanned and printed by us, so we can send them faster. (No import necessary) You don't need to pay anymore and we will refund you 30% of the portrait price.

I would like to enlarge or reduce the size of my drawn drawing or need additional art print, what can I do?

You don't have to order Fine Art Print/Premium again, you can order additional Artprints from us. This is an offer only for customers who have already ordered. Please enter your order number in the field.

How do I track my order?

After we have finished drawing and packing your order, we will ship it with DHL. You will receive a shipping confirmation with the tracking number so you can view the shipment status.

My picture still hasn't arrived, what can I do?

If you still have not received your order 10 days after the shipping confirmation, please notify us immediately via WhatsApp.

If you ordered an art print, we will send you a new copy at no additional cost.

Since the other styles are unique, we submit an investigation request to DHL.

The painting was damaged by the supplier, what can I do?

We always pack the portraits very carefully to prevent possible damage, unfortunately we have no influence on the delivery itself. If the portrait is damaged, please send us a picture of the packaging and the portrait so that we can complain to the supplier .

We would like to send you a free fine art art print as a replacement for the circumstances and need 2 days before we can send it.

I received the portrait from Sketchus, how can I share my experience?

Can I post my drawings on social networks?

Yes, of course, for private purposes you can share it as you like and feel free to put in a good word for us, it makes us very happy to become better known. However, commercial use is not easily possible because copyright is violated. If you would like to use our drawings for business purposes, please contact us in advance so that we can discuss this in more detail.

Will the Sketchus logo appear on my artwork?

After the drawing is finished, the Sketchus artist will sign the image. The Sketchus logo is merely a watermark for the images on our website and does not appear in the original image.

Are there discounts at Sketchus?

We regularly add discount codes to our newsletter. When you sign up for the newsletter, you will receive a voucher code worth $15 for your order.
