Ein wunderschönes Portrait mit 4 Generationen aus 9 Familienmitgliedern (2 davon leider verstorben). Als Größe habe ich A2 gewählt, was genau richtig war. Wir haben zusammen besprochen, wie die Personen angeordnet werden. Nach der Vorab-Ansicht hatte ich noch ein paar Änderungen, die perfekt umgesetzt wurden. Leider kam es 4 Tage zu spät an, aber das lag wahrscheinlich an meinen Änderungen. Aus Datenschutzgründen möchte ich nicht, dass man die Gesichter sieht. Aber auch so sieht man die tolle, professionelle Arbeit. Vielen Dank 🤗

Ich finde die Zeichnung wirklich mega gut gelungen! Man sieht sofort, wie viel Mühe und Talent du da reingesteckt hast. Die Proportionen wirken sehr stimmig und auch die Details sind richtig sauber ausgearbeitet. Besonders gefällt mir, wie lebendig die Figur wirkt – das hat echt etwas Dynamisches. How can I order a portrait from Sketchus?

Order directly through our online portrait configurator.

Create your portrait

Choose the finish, size and number of people or pets, upload your photos and complete your order online. If your photos are not ready, you can send them after ordering using the link in your automatic order email.

Can I order through WhatsApp?

No, we recommend our online shop, but email and WhatsApp are also possible. However, we only start drawing once we have all the information about your order in the system.

If you can't order online or have a complicated problem, just let us know via email/WhatsApp:

- the delivery address

- a telephone number where we can reach you

- Email address for contact

- reference photos in the appendix

- Selected artwork finish: Art Print or Original where available

- Number of people (including animals)

- Would you like to add framing service?

- The available size selected on your portrait product

- Your preferred production option and any fixed gift date


You will then receive a confirmation and invoice by email.

Art Print or Original: what is the difference?

Art Print: A real Sketchus artist draws your portrait by hand. The finished artwork is reproduced as a high-quality art print. You receive the print, rather than the physical original sheet.

Original Drawing: You receive the physical hand-drawn original on art paper.

Can I cancel my order?

If you cancel within 24 hours of ordering, we will issue a full refund.

If the cancellation request is received after 24 hours and we have already started drawing, we will charge a fee of 10 - 20% of the portrait price, otherwise you will also receive a full refund in this case.

How much does it cost to have a picture drawn?

The final price depends on the selected style, finish, size and number of people or pets. An Art Print reproduces the artist’s completed work; Original is the physical artwork itself.

Does combining photos or using an old photo cost extra?

One of our specialties is to create a portrait from several templates you provide, which, for example, should be made up of individual images into a family photo.

As with photos that have yellowed, for example, you can also recognize the details that were there and use them to draw something new for you.

We can offer you both at no additional cost.

Which online payment methods can I use?

You can order and pay online without hesitation. We work with the most important online payment services such as Paypal, Klarna, Klarna installment payment, Mastercard or Visa. Of course, we also accept advance payment and bank transfer, but Google Pay and Apple Pay are also possible.

Through the interface to the payment providers, you can choose a secure and fast payment in the shop. With certain payment methods such as bank transfer, it may happen that we are only notified of receipt of payment a few days later.

I missed a payment. What should I do?

You can make your bank transfer after placing the order. If we have not received payment within 10 days of the order date, we will cancel the order.

If you want to cancel earlier or need help with the payment timing, contact us on WhatsApp with your order number and name.

We begin drawing only after payment has been received.

Can I pay in installments or make a partial payment first?

We can offer installment payments through our partner Klarna. A possible credit check would be carried out by the payment provider, unfortunately we have no influence on this.

Unfortunately we cannot offer partial payment.

Is there a money-back guarantee?

We cannot offer you a money-back guarantee. The portraits are individually made products that are drawn specifically for you.

However, we are convinced that you will be delighted with your purchasing experience and will not even think about returning it. If this is still the case, send the item back to us after prior arrangement within 30 days of receipt and we will refund you 70% of the purchase price.

Can you combine photos for a memorial portrait?

Yes, we draw a high-quality, attractive portrait from each of your templates and can also create a larger work of art from several images. Our artists can also create the feeling that everyone was present in the moment.

Can I order a portrait drawing of people and animals?

Yes, of course! Did you know that Sketchus has made it its favorite task and topic to combine templates of people and animals into a work of art.

What do I do if my reference photos are not of good quality?

Sketchus artists have created portraits from photos since 2005. Older or blurry photos can often be used. If you are unsure, send us your photo on WhatsApp before ordering so we can assess which approach is suitable.

Which reference photo should I choose?

In order to get the best possible result, we need your most current and clearest reference photos from you.

The following conditions are most suitable:

- Close ups

- Natural daylight without flash

- Sharp images (no blur or motion blur)

- Complete image of the person/face (ears and hair can be seen completely and clearly)

Will I receive a preliminary draft?

Your artist uses the reference photos and wishes you send with your order to plan the portrait’s arrangement and details.

For a combined or more complex reference, explain:

Who should appear in the portrait.

The correct number of people or pets.

Which expression or arrangement matters to you.

Any details you want the artist to consider.

Composition and finished-artwork preview:

A preliminary composition, when needed, helps discuss how separate references fit together. It is distinct from the finished-artwork preview.

Every new custom portrait order includes a free preview by email after the artwork is finished and before shipping. Changes within the order scope are included; no preview add-on is needed.

Production time & delivery time

How long does portrait production take?

Standard portrait production usually takes 2–4 weeks. Express production takes 5–7 days when available.

Standard: the usual production schedule.

The available option and final price are shown before ordering.

Production and shipping are separate.

Shipping options and costs depend on the destination and are shown at checkout.

Ask us about your photo and a fixed date before buying.

I need a portrait urgently. What should I do?

Standard production takes 2–4 weeks. Express production can take 5–7 days when available. Shipping time is additional.

For a very close deadline, send your photo and required date before ordering. Our customer service team will check what is possible for your portrait.

For an urgent order, you can receive a high-resolution file by email free of charge after the artwork is finished and print it yourself. Please arrange this directly with customer service.

How do I use the 60TAGE discount code?

Enter 60TAGE at checkout for 10% off your order. You do not need to order 60 days in advance or select a 30-day production time.

Standard production takes 2–4 weeks. Shipping time is additional, and shipping costs depend on the delivery country.

In the process of drawing

When will I receive the order confirmation?

We send confirmation immediately after every order and payment has been received. However, if you have not received one, please check your spam folder; with some email providers it happens that our order confirmation is filtered out.

You are also welcome to contact us via WhatsApp and inquire about the status.

I uploaded an incorrect reference photo, what should I do?

You can send us the correct reference photo via WhatsApp. Please tell us your order number and which templates should be used if there are several.

I want to edit, add people or change the size of my order, what should I do?

If we haven't started drawing yet, we will correct your order and send you a confirmation email. You only have to pay the outstanding amount. Alternatively, you can cancel the order and order again yourself. Please notify us via WhatsApp as soon as possible so that we can help you.

My gift date is close. What should I do?

If your required date is approaching and you have not heard from us, contact us on WhatsApp with your order number. We will check the current status as soon as possible.

Can I add framing?

Add framing service where offered with your selected portrait. Check the available options and suitability for the artwork before adding it.

If your order is already placed, contact us with the order number so we can check whether framing can still be added.

Choose from the available Black or White options shown for the framing service.

What if I would like changes after the preview?

If you are not happy with the preview, contact our customer service team directly. Which of the following solutions is possible depends on your portrait and must be confirmed individually by customer service:

  1. We correct your portrait and send you a new preview.
  2. Once confirmed, you keep the portrait and receive a refund of 70% of the portrait price.
  3. If a redraw is confirmed for your portrait, we redraw it within 3 days and provide it as an Art Print at no additional cost. You also receive a refund of 30% of the portrait price.

Can I order an extra Art Print in another size?

You don't have to order Fine Art Print/Premium again, you can order additional Artprints from us. This is an offer only for customers who have already ordered. Please enter your order number in the field.

Delivery process

How do I track my order?

Once your artwork is ready and packed, it is sent with a suitable delivery provider. If tracking is available, you will receive shipment information after dispatch.

My picture still hasn't arrived, what can I do?

If you still have not received your order 10 days after the shipping confirmation, please notify us immediately via WhatsApp.

If you ordered an art print, we will send you a new copy at no additional cost.

Since the other styles are unique, we submit an investigation request to the delivery provider.

What if my portrait arrives damaged?

We always pack the portraits very carefully to prevent possible damage, unfortunately we have no influence on the delivery itself. If the portrait is damaged, please send us a picture of the packaging and the portrait so that we can complain to the supplier .

We would like to send you a free fine art art print as a replacement for the circumstances and need 2 days before we can send it.

How can I share my Sketchus experience?

Other questions

Can I post my drawings on social networks?

Yes, of course, for private purposes you can share it as you like and feel free to put in a good word for us, it makes us very happy to become better known. However, commercial use is not easily possible because copyright is violated. If you would like to use our drawings for business purposes, please contact us in advance so that we can discuss this in more detail.

Will the Sketchus logo appear on my artwork?

After the drawing is finished, the Sketchus artist will sign the image. The Sketchus logo is merely a watermark for the images on our website and does not appear in the original image.

Are there discounts at Sketchus?

We regularly add discount codes to our newsletter. When you sign up for the newsletter, you will receive a voucher code worth €15 for your order.
