What is the difference between an art print and an original?

The original premium drawing provides a drawing with maximum details and a high degree of subtlety, contrast and shading.

Fine Art Print is also a work of art and is hand-drawn on art paper, like our original drawings. These are scanned by the artist after completion. This premium fine art is printed and sent to you even faster.

Fine art print or original drawing?

Pencil Fine Art Print

An artist draws your caricature by hand. The finished artwork is then scanned in high resolution and produced as a fine art print on art paper. You receive the print, not the physical original sheet.

Original Pencil Drawing

You receive the physical caricature drawn by hand on art paper. This one-of-a-kind original is especially suitable as a personal gift with lasting value.

Caricature or realistic portrait?
A caricature is intentionally playful and exaggerated. When close, realistic likeness to the reference photo matters more, a classic portrait from photo is the better choice.

How your caricature is created

1. Choose your photo

A clear photo showing the face, hairstyle and recognizable features works best. Different photos can also be used for several people.

2. Choose the artwork type, size and number of subjects

Select a fine art print or the original drawing, then choose A4, A3 or A2 and the number of people or pets.

3. Tell us what makes them recognizable

Add a short note about distinctive features, hobbies, work or personal details. This helps the artist make the caricature feel genuinely personal.

4. A real artist draws it by hand

Your Sketchus artist creates the caricature in pencil and carefully balances expression, likeness and humorous exaggeration.

Complex requests:
Full-body compositions, detailed backgrounds, vehicles or many additional objects should be checked individually before ordering.

What makes a suitable reference photo?

The clearer the eyes, face and distinctive features are, the easier it is for the artist to keep the subject recognizable while adding a humorous character. A regular phone photo is often sufficient when it is bright and not heavily blurred.

Is the caricature really drawn by hand?

Yes. A real Sketchus artist draws your pencil caricature by hand from your photos and instructions.

What is the difference between the print and the original?

The Fine Art Print is produced from a high-resolution scan of the hand-drawn artwork. With the Original Pencil Drawing, you receive the physical one-of-a-kind artwork on paper.

Can I include several people or pets?

Yes. You can select one, two or three people or pets. People and animals can also appear together.

How much will the face be exaggerated?

The person should remain clearly recognizable. Distinctive features are highlighted with humor rather than distorted at random. Add any preferences in the comment field.

Can you combine several photos?

Yes. People or pets from separate photos can often be combined into one caricature when the references are suitable.

Can you check my photo before I order?

Yes. Send it for a free review when you are unsure about image quality, composition or size.
